Terms of Service
Last updated August 23, 2026
These terms govern your use of Momentum — our website, our Discord server, and any clipping campaign you take part in. By submitting a clip or accepting a deal, you agree to them.
1. What Momentum is
Momentum runs performance-based clipping campaigns. Brands and creators (clients) fund a campaign; participants (clippers) make short-form edits from the client's content, post them to their own social accounts, and are paid based on the results those posts produce.
Momentum is not your employer, and taking part does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship. You participate as an independent party, choose your own hours, and use your own accounts and equipment.
2. Who can take part
- You must be at least 13 years old to join the Discord, and at least 18 to receive a payout.
- You must be able to lawfully receive payment in your country.
- The social accounts you submit from must be yours and must be in good standing on their platform.
- One person, one identity. Running multiple accounts to enter the same campaign more than once is not allowed.
3. Accounts and verification
Participation runs through Discord. To be paid, you connect the social accounts you will post from and verify each one by placing a short code in the account's bio. Verification proves the account is yours; a clip from an unverified or unconnected account will not be counted.
You are responsible for anything done through your Discord account and your connected accounts.
4. Campaigns, cycles, and rates
Each campaign has its own brief, rate, budget, minimum view threshold, and cycle window. Those terms are shown in the campaign's channels and are the terms that apply to that campaign. Campaigns generally pay in one of two ways:
- Rate per 1,000 views (CPM) — you accrue at the stated rate until the campaign's budget for that cycle is reached. Once the budget is reached, the payout is finalised and further views do not add to it.
- Pot — a fixed amount is divided among qualifying clippers in proportion to their views for that cycle.
A clip counts toward a cycle only if it was posted inside that cycle's window. Most campaigns also require a minimum number of total views across your clips before any payout is earned. Rates, budgets, and briefs can change between cycles; changes are not applied retroactively to a cycle that has already closed.
Retainer and custom deals
Some participants are offered a retainer: a fixed amount per period in exchange for an agreed number of clips, sometimes alongside a rate per 1,000 views. The deal card in your private channel is the record of those terms. A retainer is paid for the period it covers, prorated if the deal starts partway through a period, and clips only count toward it from the date the deal begins.
5. Content rules
These apply to every clip you submit, including captions, on-screen text, and voiceover.
- No financial advice or hype. No investment advice, price predictions or targets, guaranteed or projected returns, or telling people to buy.
- Do not misrepresent the creator. No edit that makes someone appear to say something they did not say, and no implying an endorsement that was not given.
- Follow the platform's rules. Nothing defamatory, obscene, hateful, or harassing; nothing promoting illegal activity; nothing that breaks the host platform's terms.
- Real views only. No purchased views, likes, or followers; no bots or engagement pods.
- Keep posts up. Clips must stay live for the period stated in the campaign brief. Deleting early means the clip does not count.
- Be reachable. If we ask you to edit or take down a clip, do it within 24 hours.
- Keep it confidential. Do not share rates, briefs, rosters, dashboards, or client identity outside the campaign.
6. Inorganic engagement
Buying views, likes, or followers, or using bots or engagement services, is the one thing that ends participation outright. Where we identify inorganic engagement:
- the affected clips are removed and earn nothing;
- those clips cannot be resubmitted to any campaign, ever;
- any amount attributed to them is redistributed to the other participants in that cycle; and
- we may end your participation across all campaigns.
We use automated checks alongside human review. If you believe a removal was wrong, you can appeal through the ticket system, and a member of staff will review it.
7. Payment
- Payouts are made after a cycle closes and its figures are finalised, to the wallet address or payment account you provide.
- View counts come from the platforms themselves and from third-party data providers. Numbers can lag, and a clip's figures may be re-checked and corrected before a cycle is finalised.
- You are responsible for giving us correct payment details. We cannot recover funds sent to a wrong address you supplied.
- You are responsible for your own taxes. Momentum does not withhold tax on your behalf.
- Clips that are removed, deleted, taken down by the platform, or found to breach these terms do not earn.
8. Rights in your clips
The source footage stays the property of the creator or client it came from. Taking part in a campaign gives you the right to use that footage to make and post clips for that campaign, and for no other purpose.
For the clips you create, you grant Momentum and the campaign's client a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display them in connection with the campaign and its promotion. You keep ownership of your edit. You confirm that everything you add — music, footage, graphics — is something you have the right to use.
9. Suspension and removal
We may remove a clip, withhold payment for a clip, or end your participation if you breach these terms, if a client withdraws a campaign, or if we are required to. Where the issue is with specific clips, we will normally act on those clips rather than your whole account.
10. Disclaimers
Momentum is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that any clip will perform, that any particular amount will be earned, or that a campaign will continue. We do not control the social platforms you post to and are not responsible for their decisions about your account or content. Nothing on this site or in our campaigns is financial advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Momentum is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits or lost opportunity. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amounts payable to you for the cycle the claim relates to.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be announced in the Discord. Continuing to take part after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Momentum's principal place of business. We will always try to resolve a dispute directly with you first — open a ticket and we will look at it.
